Justenufftime produced the first Kentucky foal of the year for Mt. Brilliant on February 9 producing a big bay colt by Afleet Alex. Bayou Breeze followed in due course on February 15 producing a bay colt by Lemon Drop Kid. Both colts are enjoying themselves as the bounce around their paddocks.

Teeny Liz is the seventh Maiden Special Weight winner from the 2010 Mt. Brilliant crop of yearlings condsigned at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale. The chestnut filly by Proud Citizen - Fact of Matter by Summer Squall, broke her maiden in her 4th start and her second outing going a piece of ground for conditioner Larry Jones.

Consulado broke his maiden impressively at Santa Anita January 7 by 7 1/4 lengths defeating highly touted Welter Weight and Bobby Flay. The dark bay by More Than Ready out of Goodbye Stranger (Broad Brush) scored in his second career start and his first start as a three year-old. Consulado represents the 6th homebred Maiden Special Weight winner from Mt. Brilliant's 2010 Keeneland September Sales graduates.

Casual Trick looks like a horse to watch in his three-year old campaign. The colt by Bernardini is out of Caual Look a full sister to Mt. Brilliant's Dress Uniform. The handsome bay finished a game second in his 3rd career start in the Gulfstream Derby.

Mt. Brilliant has added to their racing and broodmare band in November purchasing a mare at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale and three horses at the Tattersalls December Breeding Stock Sale. Beginning at Keeneland Mt. Brilliant purchased Quiet Flight, a Quiet American mare from the dispersal of Edward P. Evans' Spring Hill Farm. Making the trek to Newmarket, the Mt. Brilliant team came away with a two-year old in training, Gooseberry Fool, and two mares, O'Bella Ballerina and Dress Uniform. Goosberry Fool will remain in trianing with Sir Mark Prescott and the two mares will be sent to Coolmore to foal.

Dream Pegasus wins again! The Mt. Brilliant-bred two-year old filly won an impressive entry level, off the turf allowance race at Churchill Downs on November 27 clearing a field of seven other fillies by three lengths.

Lexington Pearl, a two-year old filly by Elusive Quality and out of Mt. Brilliant’s Lexington Girl, broke her maiden in convincing fashion at first asking at Kempton Park on October 13. The filly trained by Ralph Beckett was a 2010 $100,000 Keeneland September Sales graduate.

One particular fan who plans on being in the stands at Belmont Park will be Greg Goodman. The owner of Mt. Brilliant Farm, just north of Lexington, bred the son of Mineshaft.
