Fifteen horses were entered Wednesday in the $500,000 Ohio Derby, which will be contested late Saturday afternoon at Thistledown. The 1 1/8-mile race can accommodate 14 starters and Rogue Element is the lone also-eligible. Among the entrants is 2019 two-year-old champion Storm The Court, who has finished fourth, third, and most recently sixth in second division of the Arkansas Derby during his 3-year-old campaign. Storm the Court will break from post 12 if Rogue Element (the also-eligible drawn in post 2) is scratched. Storm the Court is the only graded-stakes winner in this Grade 3 field, where South Bend, who has done his best work on turf, is the second-most accomplished entrant. The field's top Beyer Speed Figure, 92, belongs to Established, a maiden who's been second in both his races.
